Description:

The Champagne La Clé des Sept Arpents 2014 by Laurent Bérnard is an assemblage - 66% Meunier, 17% Pinot Noir and 17% Chardonnay - from grapes coming from the village of Mareuil-sur-Aÿ (Premier Cru) , more precisely from 4 lieux-dits: Chemin du Bois, La Maladrille, Les Basses Clefs and Les Sept Arpents. Aging for over 4 years and Extra Brut dosage (2 g/l) for this extraordinary and rich Champagne, pure expression of its Terroir.

Winemaker:

The Champagne adventure for the Bénard-Pitois family began in 1878, marked by a constant search for improvements in the work of the land, vine and wine. Since 1995 Michelle and Laurent Bénard-Louis, the third generation of winemakers, have been carrying out the first tests for organic cultivation and since 2009 have decided to convert part of their vineyards to it, gaining the Ecocert certification, driven by the desire to offer the best expression of their Terroir, reflecting their sensitivity and values. This new path allows them to obtain richer and more concentrated grapes for the approximately 2.5 hectares of vines divided into 6 distinct parcels with an average age of the vineyards of 22 years. In the vineyard, therefore, only natural fertilizers and in the cellar soft pressing of the musts, selected indigenous yeasts, very reduced use of sulfurose - when possible zero - create natural and high quality Champagnes.
